Kate is all set to marry dental surgeon Norman and as the ultimate planner/control freak she has planned everything to a “T”!

With her three best friends, they head off on the hen part in Vegas – and the planning and itinerary fly out the window, especially when on the first night, she bumps into her ex Trevor, who is now a successful DJ. After far too many drinks and blacking out, Kate wakes up the next morning to find that in her drunken stupor she ended up marrying Trevor! Now all her perfect plans for the wedding to Norman have flown out the wedding. Trevour has agreed to sign annulment papers if Kate agrees to go out on three last dates with him. With her fairy tale wedding hanging in the balance, Kate agrees to his plan but will it end in happy ever after?

This book is absolutely hilarious!! I have often seen on Tik Tok and reading reviews of various books that people say "this was a real laugh out loud book for me!" but I've never experienced that until now!! I would be reading this in bed and laugh and then have to read the paragraph out loud to my partner and we would both be in fits of giggles. I especially adored "I knew Burger King when he was just a prince!!!" Fantastic!!

If I did have a few "icks" - the name of Norman aka Normie - for a character as strong as Kate, I hated the fact that she used "baby language" when talking to him, and the number of times she used it wound me up completely. Also Siobhan's constant sex talk and innuendos got a little tiring after a while, and she would have driven me mad if I'd been on a hen weekend with her!!!!

However! Saying that this book was wonderful and extremely funny and I could relate to it as I too, got married in Vegas, although my wedding was planned and the marriage lasted a little longer!!

REVIEW: Moonlight Over Studland Bay by Della Galton

Moonlight Over Studland Bay – Della Galton published by Boldwood Books Samantha Jones works as an audio typist for a local company in Dorset. However, it’s not her dreams job. She wanted to devote, and expand, Purbeck Pooches, her pet sitting service. When best friend (and housemate) Abby has a baby boy Sam’s priorities change and she realises she wants more from her life. Does she want life to continue as it is or does she want to look for the perfect sperm donor – on a drunken evening Abby and Sam draw up the perfect "daddy" list. Sam’s world is soon rocked when her boss Rex accuses her of moonlighting and her parents who have run a B&B locally for years make a shock revelation. I’m going to say it from the start…I loved this book! Sam is a relatable character who knows what she wants from life, but she doesn’t want to upset, hurt or trample on people to get it. She’s just an all-round good egg!! There were times in the book when Abby made me laugh but a...

Review: Holding

Holding by Graham Norton My rating: 4 of 5 stars I listened to this book on Audible, with Graham Norton reading it himself, and it was brilliant. Set in the fictional Irish town of Dundeen, local, over weight Gardai PJ Collins is used to the slow sedate village Bobby, eating a fried breakfast, handing over speeding tickets and giving safety talks at the local school until....human remains are discovered when excavation work is being done on a farm. Down go the doughnuts, and PJ Collins has to step up to the plate, and solve the murder. Will the town ever be the same again as secrets are unleashed and we all know that once Pandora's box is open it is very difficult, neigh on impossible to get the lid back on. My family are from West Cork which is where this novel was set, and with Graham reading it, it bought the accents to life and made me giggle..I could imagine the scenery and landscape. Well done Graham, five stars...can't wait for the nex...
