On A Night Like This written by Lindsey Kelk published by Harper Collins

Fran Cooper’s life is at a crossroads. Leaving her job as a personal assistant to relocate to Sheffield when her boyfriend inherits his grandma’s house, life isn’t panning out exactly how she thought it would. Fran now works as a temp but when she’s offered a seven-day booking acting as an assistant to a celebrity she accepts it. However, the booking isn’t in London, it’s on a private yacht in the Mediterranean en route to a tiny Italian island and the glittering Crystal Ball, along with the world’s rich and famous.

When Fran is left behind on the island of Panarea she is talked into gate-crashing the ball, where she literally bumps into “All American” guy Evan, who promises to be her guide for the evening, as long as there are no life stories, no last names or personal details.

This was like a modern-day retelling of the Cinderella story - an enthralling and captivating grown up fairy tale.

I loved Fran’s character, she was funny and crazy, yet at the same time naive and gullible but she also stood up for herself and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. I was Team Fran all the way!

This was a wonderfully festive story which will really get you in the Christmas spirit and I to say this is probably right up there in my top three favourite books of this year.

Lindsey Kelk books never disappoint, you always know you are going to get relatable characters and a wonderful storyline where you are whisked away to gorgeous locations and this book did exactly that!! I absolutely loved it!!

Bravo!

REVIEW: Moonlight Over Studland Bay by Della Galton

Moonlight Over Studland Bay – Della Galton published by Boldwood Books Samantha Jones works as an audio typist for a local company in Dorset. However, it’s not her dreams job. She wanted to devote, and expand, Purbeck Pooches, her pet sitting service. When best friend (and housemate) Abby has a baby boy Sam’s priorities change and she realises she wants more from her life. Does she want life to continue as it is or does she want to look for the perfect sperm donor – on a drunken evening Abby and Sam draw up the perfect "daddy" list. Sam’s world is soon rocked when her boss Rex accuses her of moonlighting and her parents who have run a B&B locally for years make a shock revelation. I’m going to say it from the start…I loved this book! Sam is a relatable character who knows what she wants from life, but she doesn’t want to upset, hurt or trample on people to get it. She’s just an all-round good egg!! There were times in the book when Abby made me laugh but a...
