When the story starts, we meet six year old Flora who lives in poverty with her evil Aunt and Uncle. To scratch a living, they use little Flora as a pickpocket. One day in London, they chance upon the wealthy Stewart family with their daughter Arabella who is a similar age to Flora. A deal is struck and the Stewarts agree to take on Flora as a companion for Arabella. Living the life of a lady and gaining an education we are introduced to a varied cast of characters as life for Flora takes a few twists and turns. I have read a few Dilly Court books previously and this one was another enjoyable read leaving you wondering where the story was going to take you next. Thoroughly enjoyable.
